THE NURSING JOURNEY

Rosa, born as Maria, was born in Italy. Her journey as a nurse began with extensive training in both Italy and England, giving her a strong foundation across multiple specialties. In Italy, she trained in General Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Urology, and Care Home settings, gaining a broad understanding of patient care across diverse fields. In England, her experience expanded to include Respiratory Care, Intensive Treatment Units, Post-Anesthetic Care, the Operating Room, and Nursing Home environments. This comprehensive training provided her with the versatility needed to adapt to a wide range of healthcare scenarios and gave her the expertise to work across both public and private sectors.

As the first healthcare professional in her family lineage, she often felt frustrated when her loved ones didn’t take her advice seriously. Over time, she came to realize that everyone has their own choices to make and even a professional's advice is not always taken as help when not required.
Beyond the hospital setting, she now views her role as one of respecting the decisions of others. After all, specializing in one area does not equate to have complete knowledge of the human body and its various treatments

In her career, she has had the privilege of working alongside outstanding teams of Nurses, Doctors, Operating Department Practitioners, Healthcare Assistants, and Holistic Practitioners from around the world.

A major turning point came in 2017 when she was diagnosed with Tuberculosis. She spent three months in isolation and endured six months of antibiotics. Despite being young, she found herself seriously ill, later discovering through a casual conversation with a flatmate that her case had made the news as an Outbreak Incident. This challenging and unexpected experience left a profound mark on her, emphasizing the importance of resilience of both the body and mind, leading her to a deeper understanding of wellness.
Just as she was starting to find her footing, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, bringing more isolation and a deepening her sense of hopelessness. In 2020, she consented to be redeployed to the Intensive Care Unit, facing the overwhelming influx of patients struggling to breathe. She felt the pain of her patients, the exhaustion of her colleagues, and the anxiety of people confined to their homes too. At the same time another question lingered in her mind: were her loved ones safe in Italy?

Refusing to remain idle, she dove into research and made a critical decision: to bring to life a video designed to inspire and help.

The first wealth is health.
